I used to work at Crossways in Dartford, all the offices are around a lake, in the summer it was nice to go sit out on the grass by the water and smoke a fag or eat a cheese sandwich.
Either of which would raise the ire of the local CG populous.
Honking and baring their (incredibly disturbing) teeth* until you ran back into the office.
Once they actually guarded the rear entrance (oo-er) and went for anyone going out that door.

Funding should be for sports that normal kids have access to.

Dunno most of our lot seem to be pretty normal, dry slope types who worked seasons in the alps for less than min wage here.
Brexit has screwed the chances of working class kids going and doing a season.

Well, we don't really. People like Dave Ryding and our freestyle skiers/boarders have to self fund to various degrees. This is why Dave Ryding has adverts on his kit and most other nations don't do that. Winter sports funding has been squeezed for years. I think I read that our speed skaters were working third jobs to get to Beijing.

On the plus side, curling is really accessible in Scotland...lots of initiatives to get normal kids into it.
