I've been watching some videos with Scarbs recently via Driver61, although i can't stand the guy on that channel normally
-
• #8653
Yeah he’s annoying. Dry mouth sounds, hyperbolic and too much ad stuff. It’s gone really clickbaity lately. Might unsubscribe.

Scarbs is usually pretty reliable with the tech stuff. I think I’ve only ever seen him on the Peter Windsor channel though, didn’t know he did things on other channels.

I do wish there was more sober and techy F1 content available on the regular tho.
Techy content is why I still subscribe to Racecar Engineering even though I'm not a racecar engineer and no longer race. That and being too lazy to cancel the subscription.

Ah yeah sorry I got them mixed up, Craig Scarborough is usually on the Driver61 videos. Do like his stuff alongside Sam Collins from the official F1 channel too.

Biased Ferrari fan here, but this looks awesome:

Yes it does! The black halo somehow makes it look less offensive.
-

Like that. Reminds me of the late 80s Ferraris (Gerhard Berger, etc.) - needs Agip logo to complete it...
Oddly the Alpha Tauri livery reminds me of the old blue and white Brabhams.

Yeah it definitely has some classic Ferrari vibes with the red body/black wing combo. Really enjoying the shapes of the new cars. Hopefully the next step is to make them a bit smaller!

Not a Ferrari fan here but that's my fave so far. Definitely agree on the size, they're huge.
I thought the Williams looked good too. -
• #8662
The cars are a fair bit smaller (shorter) than the last couple of years. Don't let that wide angle ferrari shot fool you.
-
• #8663
Are they? I thought they were about the same size.
And still significantly bigger than the 90's & 00's cars
Edit: Had a quick look there, the max length is 10cm shorter than last year. Though given a lot of the cars were a fair bit shorter than the max length (the Red Bull was definitely a good bit shorter than the Mercedes as far as I recall), some cars may not be impacted by that. The width is unchanged from what I can see.

Masi has been given the boot - good.

In other news, Ferrari have gone pretty bold with their sidepods...

That's more like a door pocket. Does Leclerc need a map or something?
-
• #8667
Throat pastilles and a box of tissues?
-
• #8668
Maybe they're anticipating reviving the practice of giving other drivers a lift back to the pits?
Bear in mind they're all quite small, skinny chaps.

Granted we won't know the true pace until the first race in Bahrain (let alone how that'll change throughout the season), but I'm gonna put forward my expected running order of the cars launched so far:
Ferrari
Aston Martin
Alpha Tauri
Williams
McLaren
Haas
Alfa RomeoHope I'm wrong about McLaren, would love to see McLaren vs Ferrari at the front again.

Williams that high up?
-
• #8671
It's one of the more interesting cars I think, I really want them to do well.
I think my personal prioritisation for who I'd like to see would be:
- Williams
- McLaren
- Mercedes
- Alpine (who I think of as Renault)
- All the rest of them
- Williams

I quite like the Alfa livery, thinking about it. Great name, also.
-
• #8673
Going from 3rd worst to 4th worst isn't that big a jump! Just got a feeling McLaren have dropped the ball this year.
-
• #8674
Obviously we've yet to see the Alpine, but I'm betting they'll be down with Alfa & Haas this year, the team seems a mess from an organisational standpoint.
-
• #8675
Maybe. Not wishing them ill but I don’t think they’re in a position to move up the rankings with so much upheaval in the last few years.
Yeah I subscribe to The Race and Driver61 is ok…
