Ordered a 1x10 groupset from Always Riding on eBay, preparing myself for a 5 week turnaround - but it's coming by FedEx this time, will be here by Tuesday!? Praying that it slips past customs like they usually do...

More cheap Chinese rear derailleur mods:
Redshift direct mount hanger (for newer Shimano) £5 delivered from AliX. A little lighter, easier to get the wheel in and out, supposedly marginally better shifting and looks much neater.
5 minute replacement, just needed a tiny b screw adjustment. Really nicely made, one of the best things I've bought from Ali. Think I'll get a spare too.

Does this work?
I ordered 19th Jan, delivered 10th Feb, not bad given how everything stops for new year holidays.

Ordered 9th, delivered 14th; no tax and a *free BB52! More than happy with that result...

Picked up some crazy light Hylix carbon cages from eBay. £25 each from china. 8 grams each. Quality seems a bit home made but ok. No idea if these will break at the first sight of an Essex pothole but time will tell.
80 grams saved off my old set of King Cages.

i will take king cages

TBC. Expecting the Hylix cages to self combust. If they survive a few rides, will sell Kings.

I had some very light carbon cages like those from an Amazon reseller, snapped in less than two hundred miles of road riding (at the base where it holds the bottle at the bottom). Went back to my similarly heavy stainless steel cages :(

Is there a lufuguss-approved fork from the far east that is/has:
- 1" (threadless)
- long steerer (35 cm more or less)
- 700C
- canti/V-brake bosses
- clearance for 35C tyres + mudguards
Should I stop daydreaming? Is there anything that is available in the EU maybe?
- 1" (threadless)

I couldnt say for sure, but that sounds like something SJS / Thorn may stock

It does, but I checked and they don't

• #10145
huh, first time for everything I suppose
-

I guess there are just so few 1" bikes out there that need new forks, are worth treating to one, and are going to be assembled threadless.

Should I stop daydreaming?
Yes, the answer lies in the soma, not the psyche.

Cheers guys thanks for the fast answers! The Soma was the only thing I could find so far as well. It looks really good, cannot justify the price for now, but I might break the piggy bank later.
Hopefully someone from a Chinese factory monitors this thread and starts manufacturing these kind of forks for me (and those 3 other people in the world that are interested in this).Alternatively, is there a 1" quill stem, ~70mm long but reaaaally tall (like the NITTO NTC-225) and dare I say 31.8? Now I must be daydreaming.

Surprised there aren't any Chinese made Wound-up knockoffs, they still make their 1" threadless carbon forks

There is the "Quill Stem with Removable Faceplate" by Velo Orange which is quite tall, 0 degrees and comes in 80mm.
I also still have the original forks from my Raleigh. They are threaded through and I would need to check the clearance. They fit 35s without mudguard not sure with.
I'm sure the performance will be underwhelming but throwing money at power problem is more fun than training and diet. At least it will look fast until i start pedaling 😉
