Have you seen the cycletruck conversion kits from haulin caulin ? It may be a way better handling than having all the weight on the fork.

Its a valid point (weight distribution is presumably better due to the frame joint) but as a stand alone product (for the purpose of my uni project) the forks are much more doable.
