Touring wheels, 44cm bars, 15t fixed cog

Posted on
  • Touring wheel set – these where built for my touring bike by Condor some years ago but the bike was stolen before I could fit them and I did not get a replacement. Never fitted and still with the original plastic wrapping, kept indoors. 36 spokes, Mavic A719 touring rims. I am pretty sure it is 8 speed hub, that is it was meant to replace. Edited: O.L.D. Is 130mm for the rear hub. £255m new. (edit: I will wipe the dust off the hubs)
    SOLD

Bars – Came with a Genesis CdF; marks from the bar tape and shifter, but no crashes. 44cm centre to centre, drop looks like 12.5cm
    £5

Pair of Continental Cyclocross Speed tyres, 700x35C. Both used, rear tyre more worn.
    REMOVED

COLLECTED - 15t fixed cog - Fitted to a flip-flop wheel that I only rode SS. The wheels has a broken spoke and is not worth repairing but I don’t have a lockring wrench to take the cog off. It feels wasteful to throw the cog out with the wheel.
Free if you can collect the wheel or come with a lockring wrench.

  • Hi, can I ask if the flip flop wheel is truly dead? I could do with a hub like that and can build wheels ok-ish so wouldn't mind the challenge (unless it's a complete gonner). Don't need the 15t cog so would pass that along if there were interest. Also, where are you? Cheers

  • Based in N7

One spoke is broken but the shop said both rim and hub are worn enough to better replace the whole thing rather than spend money on a repair. I can take a photo of the rim.

  • Thanks, a picture of the rim and hub would be really helpful to see if I can recycle it usefully, thanks

  • Hiya - tempted by the touring wheelset - PMed!

  • more photos.

I was riding 20+km almost daily and thought the wheel was fine, so the hub should not be dead.

    [...]

  • I'd definitely like to give it a go if that's ok. Will message now, thanks

  • Won't take the touring wheels in the end but they look great - bump!

  • Presumably, the touring wheels will take Shimano cassette? Forgive my ignorance.

  • Yes, they were built for shimano gears.

Edit: only ever used Shimano before but after a quick look online these are definitely for Shimano cassette.

  • Added tyres. Ones the wheels and tyres are gone I will also be able to add a soft case bike bag.

  • Hi, I'll take the wheels if they are 135mm OLN on the rear hub, will PM you now

  • Much appreciate the flip flop wheel, cheers!

Won't need the 15t cog or lockring which I've taken off so these are now available E9 if anyone wants for free obvs. Underneath the mud, essentially unused condition.

  • Edited: O.L.D. Is 130mm for the rear hub

  • If wheels not taken I'll deffo have them and the Conti CX tyres if you can post

  • Price drop

  • @sacredhart - still after touring wheels?

  • Did those touring wheels ever sell ?

  • Still available

  • I will donate price of bars and tyres to the forum.
