Surely a cx track is "small" enough to warrant a couple of spidercams to be set up over key sections, which would be significantly safer and quieter than drones. By its own nature, most tracks double up on themselves, making this setup even more convenient/effective.
Did they use something similar for Fayetteville? There was a particular part of the descent where the camera could track the riders from above for a good stretch which seemed too much for a fixed camera shot.

Imo the shots are great, probably a bit low to work in a busy race though? Seems to me like a sensible choice to start using them more widely though. There's obviously a risk but chances of anything as dramatic as Alaphillipe @ flanders seems low. There are some talented pilots out there, once it becomes "a thing" maybe they could be drawn to it. Can't draft a drone either.
