What cables/outers are they?
I like the steerer spacers but I'd have to even them out above and below the stem for OCD completeness

Can't get it on a shimano cranks though? I toyed with getting Easton EA90s or Praxis Zayantes (good looking cranks can take sub compact rings) but both require a 30mm axle, and I gather compatible bottom brackets are a bit meh? I'm open to it, Middleburn RO2s are on a wishlist

Jagwire braided
Spacers are from our own Tester, thicc spacers being thicker than the stem do my head in but the stem situation is a WiP

I will make a thousand pictures rain forth, thank you <3 <3 <3

Nice. Since I'm riding the Tarmac again, cables have re-entered my life :)
I need to cut down the RD cable on mine since swapping the DA for an XT + 36T MTB cassette.
If I ever re-cable it I'll keep an eye out for the Jagwire. -

It's really nice, I saw it in clever mike when I took the frameset in
46t chainring looks nice but pricey
-

I've got a much cheaper FSA on my Mason and maybe a more expensive one from that brand that I can't remember on another bike
Praxis
But I'm not using Shimano cranks

I am a big fan of subcompact cranks. Especially on a do it all bike. A 46 x 30 with an 11-32 or 11-34 cassette is a really good range for climbs with some luggage but also for some roadie business.
Re Panniers: Yeah I think it's weird to ride with a single pannier. I think there are some laptop specific ones? I never really liked the idea of my laptop in a pannier though. So when I am commuting I tend to have a tiny backpack with just my laptop and everything else goes in panniers or Carradice style bags.

Single pannier
Which doesnt make it OK! But maybe. At least half a tubus duo would keep the weight low, and quite cheap to buy into
Compact chat got me looking for nice pictures of middleburn cranks.
A Black OPEN with all silver
Ryan Builds Wheels' Candestine w/ all black
Brother Mehteh silver on black Oddo this has the brown padded newbaums tape I think might be good on yours
Ritchey Outback silver on black - looks like VO Drillium rings though
Brother Mehteh all blackWoods Cyclery putting lots of Middleburn cranksets on ... It'd cost me ~£350 for arms, spider, middleburn chainrings, and I think I would go all silver, though silver arms with black spider (ala Hulsroy's Rotors) and rings is also quite tempting

Middleburns are sexy and they pop up on eBay every now and then. Set up a search alert.

The all-black balloon tyres look so good, I need to find a 700x45-48 equivalent.

this bike looks great, reminds me of a norco search a friend has, he did King Alfred's with it last year.
In short, this Faran looks made for king alfred's if/when you get a spring break. -

I've been keeping an eye on these. Don't know how well the 30t 110bcd ring will last tho...

Took some pictures - I proclaim no skill in framing but I wanted to try and capture the colour as it’s poorly represented online
I really hate the wahoo mount, i need to put the stem one back on. Next thing to buy is a UI-12 stem and try the cowbells I have. And wash it
It weights 12kg

So I’m feeling very into this bike
I don’t know if it’s just that it’s my first ride in 4 months that wasn’t a commute, that we’re over in Ireland with family, or the light today or what, but i felt great today and I loved my bike.
The idea of 30-46 middleburn cranks is very present, pondering wether to go all silver, black arm and silver spider/ rings (the Oddo) or the inverse (the Hulsroy).

Bike's looking great. Love those days when everything just clicks, and riding seems so much fun you could just keep going.
I very much like the look of silver cranks/black rings. Middleburn 46/30 is quite often on my mind too. -

46/30 is the perfect double ratio. I say go for it. Lovely bike.

Do it! It’s a great ratio. I got a 46/30 x 11-34 on my randonneur and it’s fast on the road but also handles off-road climbs.
Also my vote is for “the Hulsroy”. I like my bike but I only went for “the Oddo” because I already hat the crank arms.Beautiful pictures by the way. I hope you have a smashing time!

Liking the look of this. Are you on 700c? I think I'm dead set on 27.5 for mine but this looks great.

days when everything just clicks
Sounds like riding my bikes
I'm leaning that way, I've gone off the octagonal cross section of the pro plt stem too, I don't think it suits. I've some 40cm salsa cowbells I'll give a go but for now dn't want to go too wide - I am a narrow narrow person :-(
Yeah laptop and some underwear would be in a single pannier which m might be awful
And hey listen, 2 cents are what I'm after here, along with a place to dump my thoughts
