• Hello all. Last night I had the worst crash I've had on a bike. Not that I was going fast, but cycling up toward the bottom of London Bridge my crank arm snapped clean in half. Being on the drive side I went down in the road and there was a bus meters behind me.

If it weren't for Mr Khan driving the 133 to Liverpool Street, who managed to put the bus halfway through a (fortunately) empty pelican crossing, I'd be a puddle in the middle of the road.

My bike was under the bus, but seems to (on quick inspection) have come out mostly unharmed other than a scratch on the fork and a load of dirt/grime on one of the chainstays from the bottom of the bus. But I'm very paranoid about getting back on the bike until I've had it all checked over thoroughly.

I had a little accident maybe 6 weeks ago where I got knocked over (going very slowly) by a cab and I wonder if something in that crash might have affected the crank arm. I checked the bike over fairly thoroughly afterwards and everything had seemed okay and I've been riding it a fair bit since.

So, any recommendations for a decent place in SE London who I can trust to give the bike a very good inspection? It's a lovely Cannondale Capo frame and I'd hate to have to bin it :(
