We paid 10.95€ on a 20GBP gift sent to us in Spain from friends in the UK yesterday. I don't understand how the charges add up anymore?
We've paid out close to 100€ in post/tax charges since our daughter was born, to the point where we've told people not to send anything. Insane.

We sent a c.£40 gift to Sweeden over Christmas. The recipient had to pay something like 40Eur. I've no idea why.

Taxes to GB seem to be a mess, a mate of mine got a coat from the USA and hit charged 50% of the value in tax!
Which is not correct it should be 20% and courier fee.

We've started insisting upon a receipt from Correo, then photographing the labelling, and the receipt, and writing to Correo for an explanation of the charges, and asking for a refund. Some people have had success with this ( if you believe the facebook groups).

Get an email: You are in NI it has to come from Poland.
Me: That's ok.
Now get another email: And it's 20% vat on top now.
Me: WTF
I asked why as NI is in the EU customs union but if this goes on might have to try to source elsewhere.
Honestly...! Edit: I'm just going to ring them maybe it's just confusion cos emails.
