• Perhaps but the devil might be in the detail. Oakwood Garden Rooms run the mains electricity 'outside' between the OSB and cladding rather than inside the OSB where the thermal insulation is. There is some debate as to if that is a good or bad thing to do. You need an electrician that agrees with Oakwood or you start to deviate from the build pack and who knows where you end up...

  • Good point about the external runs and the various attitudes.
    I was going by most of my experience of domestic sparks being them not wanting to do anything that involves physical effort so assumed doing that heavy lifting would make it easier.

    I'd love to hear some of the "anti" opinions with appropriate references to 7671 to justify. I don't use it much these days but i spent 7 years in a job where I was referring to it every day.

  • I'm completely unqualified to have an opinion but I did raise an eyebrow. I recall an episode of Grand Designs where someone was building a straw bale insulated house and ran their electrics in pyro to guard against rodent damage, could that be a risk with cable the way Oakwood do it?
