Like this.
I spent about 6 months measuring the bathroom in every hotel I stayed in to get an idea of how much space we'd need.

Ah that looks quite comfortable!

Fuckin hell - that shower screen that hinges over the shower head is bloody genius. Never seen anything like it

Sterling work, can see the sink was quite the challenge.

Nice layout.
Sink looks familiar - would seem to be the same (or close) as the one I have. Ikea? I found it was the only one available that slim without being wall-mounted. I had to build a custom vanity unit base too.

Yeah it's the IKEA Lillangen. It's not a custom base though, just the standard white unit. My motto is "if you can't go bespoke go basic", hence also white 15cm tiles and grey vinyl floor.
Having the tap on the side is the trick for a usable slim sink (albeit a bit crap for left handers). We are doing the same thing to fit a sink in our new utility (which sounds a lot bigger than it is..really a corridor with pretensions)

Are the cabinets/fronts ikea too? it looks lovely

late to the party but if it helps - i think i spent c.£1200-1400 for around 30m2 (plus rockwool insulation at £300 or so)
We were on the first floor though so i didn't have to worry about a membrane.
Used the profix 15mm system - which i'd recommend, easy to install, similar price to screedboards and has peformed super well. We have 15mm engineered wood on top of it, and the floor sits between 24-27 degrees depending on heating controls. I never wear socks because my feet get too hot and the main room - which has a big bay window and rear sash and have not been refurbed - keeps around 20 degrees all the time.
it will raise your floor height if you go directly on top of floorboards and you need to check weights for the screed (which work out around 25-30kg m2)

why insulate under floors if you are on the first floor ? would you not miss out on free heat from your neighbours ?
-
• #2761
It’s a basin you plebs.
-
• #2762
basin bitches surely?

Is the radiator above the sink? Or do you have underfloor?
Ours is similar but the radiator has been squeezed in...but it's right next to the loo. So not great.
"if you can't go bespoke go basic", hence also white 15cm tiles and grey vinyl floor.
Also, snap.

As we're in the topic of small bathrooms, any thoughts on "optimizing" the use of space in our current one? I think it's pretty good already and not much room for improvements but would love to hear others' thoughts. Keen to keep a bath for potential offsprings cleaning.
I think the sink/vanity unit/mirror could be bigger and come closer to the bath. Wonder if the toilet could be a wall hung. Behind the toilet is under stair storage with gas meter right against that wall.

Rotate loo 90º to towel radiator wall, so the bowl is in essentially the same place; swap basin and towel radiator. Would give a cleaner entrance to the room? Coupled with switching the bath to the other way round, you could then conceal everything in a stud wall and have some nice concealed cistern/recessed storage thing going on.

I can't really see what the point of it is though.

I suppose so you have the full width of the bath to emerge from like a James Bond film.

It's simpler to have the screen marginally lower than the shower head so it can just fold under it. It's done in that case so everything can line up nicely and it's a fun detail.

That's a good idea. Are there rules around how much space needs to be left between loo/sink/tub that would point me in the direction of the right width sink etc?
Would 130mm be the right size stud to put plumbing in on the right side?
(FYI for you, Corbett house downstairs bathroom)

A cool feature. On a practical level, it lets you have a higher shower screen which reduces splash back. I do wonder how much escapes from the hole tho?

Why didn't you say so! Sack off your shitty third bedroom upstairs, take the hit in the property value now it's a two bed and make it a proper bathroom, then have a downstairs utility (or something else useful). Obviously.
No idea about regs etc, sorry. I'm pretty sure the concealed cistern I ended up with (one of these) would fit in a 100mm void though. Once it's all feeding off the same side you can concoct some fancy nice bespoke thing to bring it all together.

Not doing that, too expensive to move and need the upstairs box room as an office as two people working from home full time.
Noted about the cistern that's great!

Wuss. Get a garden studio too while you're sorting everything out.
What layout did you use for that?
