They 100% care about the aesthetic I think. It's this that has kept them at the forefront of desirable components that people want on their bike. I think the colours maybe stem from 2 things?
1 - They are old school so have kept with the anodized colours that have featured for a long time.
2 - They do so many components now that maybe it would be too awkward to do a batch of hubs, cranks, brakes etc as a lot of people like matchey matchey.
I loved the pink stuff they bought out but it was so limited and you just can't find it anywhere for sensible money.
Seat clamps are shite though, as are the Alu bolts in the top caps.
