But 720+ bars and less than 10deg sweep is not optimal for in-the-saddle mile-munching.

I have 740s and switch between sqlab 16deg or 12deg. I think I prefer 16.

I also have an inner hand position on the brakes (I did try sqlab inner bar struts) but no better than on the brakes. This brings me into a nearly road position. Best of all worlds.

Nice. I fit some old stubby X-lite bar ends between grips and controls for a hood position when bikepacking with road segments. Works well but could be more ergonomic. Might try these this year, especially as they have a hinge-mount.

I've done a similar thing on Salsa Bend bars, jamming bar ends as far inboard as I could. I liked it quite a lot tbh, enough that I'll probably just buy a set of Moloko bars
