Any particular reason for avoiding shower over bath?
Curious too.
Off the top of my head; age/mobility and the extra nooks and crannies/pita to clean come to mind as considerations. On the plus it means one less thing to clean.

For me it felt like a compromise, both how much space you have when you get in and the whole getting in bit.
Ideal situation would be a 1.8m x 1.4m walk in with no threshold or door, plus separate bath.
I ended up with shower above bath. -

I’ve been mulling over the same thing. Looked at the Japanese tubs but I think what I like about a bath is being able to stretch out, especially if it’s to sooth sore leg muscles.
Stayed at a friends house, they had a really low & shallow bath tub, only 400mm from floor to top edge. Didn’t bathe in it but I did step in and out easily. This combined with as wide and flat a bottom as possible is probably fine to shower in. Unless we get planning then the shower will be a glass box sticking out the side of the house.

My brain can’t conceive that shower screen clearing the head.

Alternative option is to raise the floor slightly, and see if the bath can be lower slightly.
Our floor is raise slightly to create a near step-free shower.

These are both lovely. Shown the Mrs and she's a big fan
Black taps with the hard water around here I'm not sure of though...

Sadly I won't be getting black taps either, going to go for matte brass hopefully which should look well with the black frame rail, I'm very keen to avoid any chrome if possible although I'm not winning on the mounting costs front...

Yeah, feels like a comprise to climb in and have a small/enclosed space to stand. I'll never use a bath and I'm not even sure I believe that my girlfriend will either.

Fold flat screen is a nice little detail. With a ceiling mounted rain shower head could be neat.

How big do you think that space is?
I find it so hard to work out. It looks huge, but then it could have been photographed by Foxstons.
Any guesses on the black poll, is it just a towel holder?

Or something to hold onto when getting out of the bath?

Please please please line up the edge of the new bath with that wall (thew one with the taps on it atm).

Would make sense, falling face first while climbing out of the tub with its high sides is a concern, even at 41.
Shower/bath for me is the most interesting chat ever as our bathroom is only 4sqm.I like the idea of shallow bathtub that can actually do both.
No soaking is no option here, but it's clear I won't get a crazy nice tub, as showers are a necessity and bath a luxury. -

Bingo.
Baths prob a bit low IMO but getting a bath as close to floor level as possible is always going to be better for accessibility (which is something I went for too). -

Fear not! That's the plan! It's such a small detail but it looked terrible the way it was before... I think I'll bring the boxing for the sink forward to meet the edge of the boxing in the corner too, just to reduce the amount of corners and try and streamline it a bit...
I'd rather do a floating cabinet for the sink but unfortunately the pipework behind there is a mess so not really practical. -

We went for one of these... biggest water volume we could find so widest over bath shower area, also possible to fit two people comfortably (three would be a squeeze though).

Doing gods work there.
Look forward to seeing the share. -

Good-looking tub.
But we don't own the place we live in, and the place we own has new bathrooms.
So unless we organise a co-op or become rich and buy the whole building we are in, this is all like thinking about custom frames.
But still interesting to play around with ideas and learn things.
Stuff like overflow inlet on the side for example would make everything way better in our space, but probably break in 2 years looking at average work quality in Berlin. -

The bath in our place is on the long list of jobs to rectify.
It's high sided and sort of free standing with feet, the installer (presumably because the shower screen was installed too high by mistake) has jacked the feet levelers up to the max, getting in and out is like climbing on a horse.
It's one of those - I really need to sort that out but will probably never get round to it jobs currently.

Can we talk about bidets? Not those bum guns a couple of pages ago but real ones or at least those futuristic Japanese style that are part of a regular toilet. Anyone into bidets?

Shower/bath for me is the most interesting chat ever as our bathroom is only 4sqm.
I did manage separate shower and bath in a 1.7 * 2.4 bathroom. Bath standard size, shower a 90cm pent enclosure. Perfectly usable and pleasant. It's not a huge walk in so it won't garner any design influencer awards, but if you really want a separate shower it's doable. With hindsight I could even have got away with a slightly smaller bath tbh, I'm a bit short for a full length one.

Anyone know where I can find a nice quality white rectangular kitchen overflow cover thing? Nice as in powder coated metal, not shitty shiny plastic.
Bathroom currently looking like this...
