At least you didn't fall off, I always fall off too.

I always feel that having a head cam on the last placed guy would some how be a much more humbling viewpoint. Especially knowing that the are probably a load quicker than we would ever be.

I went to see a physio yesterday about my knee and he was, in addition to the physio thing, an international level BMX racer for Peckham BMX. He told me to ride my full suspension bike instead of the hardtail until my knee is no longer swollen.

Someone came in the shop with one of those earlier, needed some pads for the rear, said he was back on it in the first time in months after crashing it because his brakes weren't working and showed me a nasty scar on his wrist that looked more like a suicide attempt.

There's plenty of footage of people on those being absolute menaces at trail centres. They look like great fun, but unfortunately I think they're in that unfortunate middle ground of being illegal just about everywhere.

I saw a guy in Brighton having one of these confiscated by the police. He used to tear around the road and cycle lanes wearing a full face helmet at 35+ mph. I'm sure i saw in local paper he was fined as well. Local police are pretty much turning a blind eye to whatever people are up to on their E-scooters but this guy got his collar felt. I expect that to be the same in any other city.
EDIT: i found the report in the local paper. Police are classifying these as mopeds not E-bikes so compulsory helmets on roads only and not even allowed in cycle lanes
