I’ve been mulling over the same thing. Looked at the Japanese tubs but I think what I like about a bath is being able to stretch out, especially if it’s to sooth sore leg muscles.
Stayed at a friends house, they had a really low & shallow bath tub, only 400mm from floor to top edge. Didn’t bathe in it but I did step in and out easily. This combined with as wide and flat a bottom as possible is probably fine to shower in. Unless we get planning then the shower will be a glass box sticking out the side of the house.
