Does he like steampunk?
Not really, but if you have any examples I’d be interested to see.

It's been 3 years since I got this on my 40th... Gets better every year. Pity my body doesn't... Chickened out going surfing cause it was over 8ft.

The brass versions are great though. And that blue is really good so I think you're onto a winner there, but you may have to take a wrist in a mirror with it at your side cause it looks like a behemoth.

Thanks, and yep, uncle Seiko. Possibly would go for the forstner version if I had to buy again. Still, it suits the watch and is more fitting than the omega bracelet.

I don't really. But how about vintage Russian watches? They have a certain charm. Guaranteed to make any teenage boy seem interestingly different to teenage girls. But usually handwound.
This seller has very low prices and he only sells NOS. (I haven't bought from him.) https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/ghrigoriy?_trksid=p2047675.m3561.l2559 For £200 you could buy a pair. Weekdays are often in Russian but it's easy to deduce what they are.
A nifty perpetual calendar function. Easy to bring up to date if you add multiples of 4:

Nope. They just want $10k/$14k so you can tell the time whilst you shoot with their $7k digital camera.
The manually wound movement was developed from scratch to achieve a harmonious interplay of gears and hammers and the smoothly interlocking rotations of the hands. It’s all evidence of the symbiosis of visionary technology, traditional engineering craftsmanship and typical Leica quality. The result is an exclusive timepiece, handcrafted in Germany, which reveals Leica’s impressive vertical range of manufacturing.
