Thanks for those suggestions. I think the Tissot is closer to what they’d like, the Seiko looks a bit modern and they prefer older/vintage styles.

Ah cheers! Looks like it’s a 1969 ref 8213 if my serial number research is correct. Was a great deal on eBay.
Contacted Longines about a service and they said £400 labour +parts - running 2mins fast over 36hrs just now so think it will need it.
Is there a forum approved better option than sending to the manufacturer for services on a watch like this or is the view that Longines will know what they are doing?

That’s the sort of thing I think, thanks.

DO NOT send that to Longines.
Send to Swiss Time Services. -

Well was added to ‘the list’

There was definitely a lot of pantaloons jaunes out there but mine are about 7 years old (clearly I was ahead of my time) so are now less ‘hi viz’ and more ‘grubby wee’ coloured.

Gutted to not have gotten one of these, didn't know about this release and would have been a timeless piece for that Reverso I'll never be able to afford.
A super limited edition of only 50 pieces of each size as well, tiny by today's standards but no price difference to the regular reference as far as I'm aware. I know without the blued hands and the mock sapphire you don't get so much of the Cartier DNA but that's what's always kind of held me back and would make this much more versatile.People have put them up for 14K 🙄

Does he like steampunk? There's a quite a big niche of steampunk watches these days. Whereas the classically retro watches often wander into pipe and slippers land.

Does he like steampunk?
Careful. @ChainBreaker is very popular on some niche steampunk sites. The tweed run made internet stars of some of the participants.

Anyone likes Panerai? Picked it up for a mate, seems like a lot of watch for the money. Like, literally this thing is huge.

It's over twice the price, which is why I'm looking at the brass version with the discount code.
end up getting this, prefer the other blue but it's sold out, a 45mm gonna be interesting with a 24mm strap;

Nice! That was the best choice imo:)

The next question is how many weeks will I have it before selling it to @ChainBreaker ?
Me too! Certainly my most worn watch, out of the, er, 30 or so that I own.
