Monevator and others have comparisons of investment platforms. I have a referral for Interactive Investor of interested.
Edit: min account size required but 1st year would be free and I am willing to share the £200 referral reward. -

I have a morsel of content, actually.
The Great Gilet Divide between equities and fixed income continues, nobody from either camp looks close to breaking rank. Active expansion of central ESG team has meant a few new faces on the floor, one lad from that team turned up in a rather nice Finisterre navy gilet, very quilty. One of the Fixed Income Hyenas was ready to pounce and interrogate on the sustainability of said gilet, but he was saved from embarrassment by a Trader who quickly informed him that Finisterre is certified B Corp. ESG man lives to fight the good fight another day...
Shoes are an area of friction at the moment, double monk straps have become a very contentious issue.

Are there any recommended websites, podcasts or books for investing dummies like myself? So far my limited strategy has been to overpay my mortgage considerably and have some cash in PB. 41 now so missed the FIRE boat, but ideally would like to get out in 15 years.

overpay my mortgage considerably
This is never a bad thing to do, but often you'll find the returns when investing are greater than the % you're saving by reducing your mortgage. (Anyway, I'm not qualified to give advice)
I've not read all of this yet but it's been pitched at a sensible level so far. The title alone is a welcome alternative from getting rich quick stuff

I have learned a fair bit over the years from monevator.com
Look at Circa5000 - it's like an ethical, B-Corp certified Nutmeg. Here's my referral link that gets you and I a few quid if you join.
