• Haha, great photo! How's the pup settling in?

  • Quite bad separation anxiety when we step out the room- but really a fantastic little creature!
And quite a lot of puppy nips.
Lots to work on, but her basic manners are getting good.

  • That's to be expected I suppose! We've struggled a little bit with Crumpet, she's really really attached to my girlfriend because they spend pretty much 24 hours a day together. I imagine a lot of lockdown dogs are the same. Glad to hear you're enjoying having her around!

  • What a sweet looking dog!

  • My puppy has a rather endearing trait, when someone sneezes he comes running to check you are ok.
If he is asleep he will wake up and come see you.
As soon as you tell him you are alright he will settle down again.

  • That’s magic!

  • Benny does this. always makes me feel guilty for disturbing him.

  • Just had mate pop round with two of his dogs (having had to put the other one down yesterday) for a cup of tea and some company.

went into back room after he left and they had very kindly left two steaming shits on our dining room carpet (they go in the garden at home) just as partner returned wanting to do some work in there. currently airing it out.

  • Hanging with these two babes, Caddy, on top, is recovering well from having a lump removed.

  • On our holidays, little apartment has a window on the stairs, Bosco likes to stare out of it.

  • Dopey fucking neighbour has accidentally let his dog come after daisy just now for a second time. First time was walking past the house and he had door open and dog dashed out, this time garden gate. Made a right scene trying to keep them apart/trying to get away. Really not ideal having our (super reactive) dog on lead, another defensive and territorial dog off lead coming after her. ERGH.

  • Need a “I keep eating my own poop” sign.

  • Less poop to clear up and you're complaining?

  • That dog gets me, they're looking right into my soul and understanding everything.

  • End of week one. She is such a sweet dog. She barks for attention or love, not so much me but with my wife quite a lot, wife has maybe been a bit cool. Apparently she ‘over bonded’ with the women in her previous home. This seems to explain things- but how do we fix it? The other theory is that she’s not getting enough stimulation but i don’t buy this, she’s getting loads of walks etc. although not off lead yet- we just did some training now, went really well

  • Positive reinforcement.

My puppy still does this, I ignore it and give him zero engagement and walk away, turn around etc. (hard as its fucking annoyinf) then reward when he settles.

You just need to teach fhat attention is gained by being chill, not by barking. And barking only gets disengagement and ignored.

  • yes, thanks skinny!

  • Has anyone else had a big hike in price on there insurance renewal? I slept on my renewal letter and just spotted it's gone up over 20%. I have a claim in so cancellation not an option.

Supposedly it's something to do with vet care and medication prices going up.

  • We faced a similar hike with the coop. In the end we tried registering as a new customer using my partner's name rather than mine (all other details and cover the same) and ended up getting it cheaper than last year!

  • Hey you look just like me!

  • Crikey ^ thats some slobber.

My guy is bobbing his head a little, not at the start of a walk but near the end. He seems to be in no pain and moving all him limbs though motion or suqezing causes no reaction. Is it possible that head bobbing could be due to fatigue, not just lameness? I tried to Google but can't see anything, if anyone knows more.

  • Our dog (Staffy x JRT) does the same. He’s also got a very weird gait at times which we were told was due to stiffness in his back. We saw a dog physio (yes really) who put him on a little treadmill and prescribed some anti inflammatories.

The long and short of it is that it made no difference and he seems absolutely fine.

Rolling in the snow at every opportunity to ably doesn’t help his back.
