I think if you are born in Norn ire to at least one Irish or British parent living here when you were born it's still easy.
We need to send additional paperwork and a passport as furrin's even though my son was born here and that rule wasn't there 30 years ago.
Definitely annoying with waiting lists will need to travel to avoid having to send my passport.
It's amazing how difficult getting an Irish passport has become. When I first got mine (admittedly 30 yrs ago), you just had to tick a box on the form saying one grandparent had been born on the island of Ireland - didn't even need to state their names, never mind provide documentation.
