• It's amazing how difficult getting an Irish passport has become. When I first got mine (admittedly 30 yrs ago), you just had to tick a box on the form saying one grandparent had been born on the island of Ireland - didn't even need to state their names, never mind provide documentation.

  • I think it's still a tick box exercise if you're actually born on the island yourself if I remember correctly? But no wonder they've cracked down if that's how it used to be!
