It seems that we missed this crash last year completely. A hit-and-run, RIP Kong Chuijiang.

Here's more information about her:

A total of 10 cyclists were killed in 2021, including Imperial student Chuijiang Kong, 23. Known as Christina, she was hit by a lorry on Wood Lane, near the junction with the A40 Westway on October 19. She died at the scene.

The lorry was later traced by police and the driver interviewed. Scotland Yard said consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service was ongoing.

No details of how the crash happened, but perhaps there will be follow-up articles, as there still seems to be an ongoing legal process. It's possible that there is also CCTV footage in this location.

Christina was someone I'd worked with many times within the Department of Materials - she was a real loss for us in several ways. I must admit that I hadn't realised she was cycling at the time, it was not mentioned anywhere internally and is hard to gleen from the first Standard article.

I do know she was making the journey from the SK campus to the new White City campus. By bike there is no current alternative to the Wood Lane route requiring use of that junction. There have been many plans for alternative entrances etc, but none have materialised.
