  • Di2 Alfine build still in my dreams!

Fingers crossed it'll happen this year!

  • dont want to shamelessly advertise but...

Just knocked £750 off this mega build due

    https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/bikes/brompton-s6lti-black-edition-folding-bike-gloss-black-titanium-gloss-black/

    Should show 11/12am today.

  • @sbbohr
You got any 142mm spokes, building up a Dynamo front and both sets of spokes I’ve got are either too long (150mm)or too short (140mm)
    Would need 28
Also if anyone else has any let me know
    Let me know

  • #NBD

Finally got the other half Chinese titanium Brompton. Impressively 7.95kg (but with no mudguards)

Won’t say the fit and finishes was 100% percent when it came out of the box. And the third party parts will need some tweaking especially around the hinges where it seems a little stiff but I hope it will become looser soon.

Parts include al lot of H&H, Ace, suncord and MKS, it is also 5 speed too :/ this will need to be refine too. But luckily no custom charge, which after 2 months of waiting isn’t too bad.

Frame and forks looks amazing as well as the stem. Quality I feel is up there with Brompton.

The only bad things is the brakes does feel a little non responsive but this might be the cables or pads.

Girlfriend seems to be happy with her gift which is all that matters I guess.

  • It looks taller?

  • Want my opinion? That looks shit hot.

Welds are buttery, million times better than the new T line.

Those brakes @M_V posted might be a touch on this, otherwise I’ll have a standard set I can spare for you shortly.

    Yeah, like that.

  • That is the Ti welding I'm talking about.
Still not the best but a darn sight prettier than what we've seen come out of Sheffield, Brompton.
Be interesting to get a comparison of how it rides vs. steel. How flexy it really is.
And let us know how the Suncord wheels and gear setup works. Been eyeballing these as a possibility for a while now.

  • Skip found frame

    🤯
Is the frame twisted or something?

  • Nothing wrong
    Left to rot
    Full of spiders 🕷🕷🕸🕸🕷🕷🕷🕸🕸

  • Seriously nice. Frame from where please?

  • Has anyone see Brompton’s like these before?

  • Not really, the profile of this is very similar to my CHPT3. The minor difference would be it’s looks like the BB is a little higher which probably helps to avoid pedal strike.

  • Thanks man, that means a lot.

Expectations was high with this gamble especially as this was something I wanted my other to like and want. I will test ride it myself tomorrow to see if there are any snags and hopefully iron them out for her before spring and summer arrived where we can venture around the UK and potentially Europe too.

  • Yup! He makes a fair few modified options and some quite neat carrying solutions on his shop. SJS sell (or have sold?) some of his smaller stuff in the past. Ben at Kinetics is also doing some stretched forks and triangles for 18” wheels now as well for another option.

  • Now it looks slightly taller, if the bricks are a good reference

  • Bitter sweet for me here, as now I’m very worried about the T-line I got is just going to be a disappointment now 😅

Will test ride it into work tomorrow. I’m quite excited to ride into work for a Monday to see what’s this bike is all about in terms of comfort and the flexibility of the frame due to the standard profile.

The suncord wheels looks nice, definitely gives that aero vibe. Braking is my only concern as the seems a little spongy atm. Hopefully new cable or brake pads will sort this out.

  • It’s the one from eBay.com

  • Haha! Didn’t notice this either. Kudos.

  • The initial reports seem to imply the T Line is definitely not flexy. The new tube profiles do their magic.
I guess the Brompnot Ti will be fine if you are svelte in weight and power delivery.
Definitely try new pads like BXP ones but I suspect the fully anodised rims are contributing to poorer braking.

  • Yeah, possibly the higher BB is what threw me off a bit

  • What was the total spend on that?

  • How does the coaster brake work with the chain tensioner?

  • No issues at all with the tensioner
When blocking the pedals the chain floats a bit
    Nothing 2 worry about
