I've got a code in the users manual, and the one I got offline is the same. Unfortunately the display says "incorrect" when this code is entered.
So I'm wondering, if I get a brand new radio unit, will I need the old code (which I don't know) to be able to use a new radio unit?

You can get codes for a bout a tenner online. Had to do that after replacing the battery on the Fiat. But it's for that unit, you won't need one for the new unit. Or if you do, it will come with one.
