From my experience it’s mostly down to being a tourist, especially if you’re visiting during the extremely busy month of August. You’ve got assholes all over the world of course but having lived in Italy for just over 3,5 years now, I’ve only ever had good experiences.
What the hell were you thinking anyway? McDonalds when in Italy? Shame on you..

To be fair others have an exceptional experience in Italy, so I am happy to be the odd one out with a consistently poor time (versus every other country visited). Just unfortunate if someone else also suffers this level of service too.
