nope but the plastic gets worn out (and the insides). Esp if you don't keep them right (like buckled up and so on). Constant pressure from skiing but also hot/cold transfers weakens the outer shell after a while
Sorry more of a flippant comment on you wearing out boots in three years, but then you are far out of the normal.
But then I have seen people with rear load ski boots on piste
I'm always amazed at people still using those. a) they were shit and b) they are ancient lol
But if you are just gliding around (ie: not a lot of stress on the boot), I'm sure they will last a lot longer
