Very nice… I was thinking JM Weston with a light sole… anything else you know of that’s similar but less spendy?

get a pair of JM weston 180s. They're the nicest imo. There's some suede ones in their sale atm.
these are a fair bit cheaper
https://www.paraboot.com/en/men/loafer/corauxmarine-noire-lis-noirbut as I live in south west London I can't bring myself to buy a pair. it's a slippery slope to red trousers and a rugby shirt

yeah, I'd love to but shoe budget will not allow... these Meermin look similar but I've tried Meermin before and wasn't blown away, and I'm a snob...

I bought a pair of JM Weston Golf Derby in brown suede from a vintage clothes shop for £35 last year... they are excellent...

what size are you? If you're 8/8.5 then I'll swap the golf derbys for a pair of black 180s? :)

• #8388
Similar to a Paraboot reims march
-
• #8389
I’m a 9.5 but the Golf’s are a generous 9…
Hmm… interesting proposal but I love them so don’t think I could part with them… got a load of other shoes and boots to clear out… was considering contacting Abbott’s to see what they’d offer for the lot rather than eBay… don’t know if anyone on here would be interested (Loake Anglesey in snuff suede, C&J onslow in dark brown pebble grain, sanders Joel shoes in snuff/light brown, JCrew Kenton (Alden Indy knockoffs) and some others I’ve forgotten…) -

Does anyone know if Loake will resole even if the shoes have been (badly) resoled by a 3rd party previously?
Probably not massively economical considering it'll cost as much as the shoes did in the first place, but they're perfectly broken in to my weird shaped feet.

Unlikely, I think they say they won’t but worth emailing. If not try shoe healer in Doncaster. They’re very good, I wait till I visit the uk to send them stuff.

That's what I thought I remembered reading, but yeah worth a try. Thanks for the tip.
Also finally booking in a trip to Northampton so it may suddenly become not a problem.

Anybody looked at the White’s Perry? Seems good value for a US made boot.

I've got some lovely old solovair boots that have a very worn sole. Is it possible to get it replaced with some super comfy coloured vibram sole rather than the Dr Martens esque original?

Earlier in thread recommendation from mustardbeak:

No idea whether the boots in question would be suitable for a re-sole though.

I'm in the market for a pair of suede loafers, have seen https://www.horatio-london.com/ on my travels but not sure on quality.
Was thinking the Drake's actually as in theory would be comfortable with the crepe sole for day-to-day wear.
Although curve ball is a pair of Yuketen Blucher's for more casual wear
Nice, where are they from?
