Hmm only the rear axle will require spacers, did not even occur to me but yeah seems plausible but perhaps to a less extent if only rear.
I will have to try and c. No clear objections to spacers then. I figured that maybe the load on the axle and bearing might increase but its such a small change and likely overbuilt (i hope) and with 2000km a year or similar its maybe a non issue regardless.

It’ll load the bearings a bit more, but I’d not really worry about it. Widening the track at the back but leaving the front as is will bias the available grip more rearward, potentially

Sounds like that could be a good thing considering its a handfull to keep in line as is now. On the other hand its kinda fun cause it happens so early on the gas as its never really scary and very predictable. Also likely cause of old hard rubber so looking forward to trying it with a new setup.

Same as standard Yaris minus a bit for bigger seats?

Does anyone want to drive my Superb to Bedford on 26th Feb? I'm worried the MX5 isn't going to pass noise regs or it will pass and then I'll get black flagged on the drive by.
If that happens I'd like to have the Skoda there to drive that on track instead.
Will pay for you to have passenger/extra driver so you can come out for laps with me and all my friends who are going and have a go in the MX5 or the Skoda too.

That invite extends to others who want to just come and have passenger laps.
Skoda can fit 5 people in it, so feel free to come along for the craic.

I'm free that day, will PM.

Make sure you have the appropriate wheel bolts to make up the extra 20mm. You don't want the wheels hanging on with 3 threads of engagement...
-
• #69911
Cheers im getting the kind with the bolts on the spacer instead of holes for bolts. Or at least that was the plan. Would think 2cm spacers would be to little material for the threaded kind since the new wheels also have different bcd. (Wheels after 92 wont fit pre 93 years model hub as they changed it by a mm or something like that)
Is 2cm enough perhaps? Is one version preffered over the other? Remember doing some research on this when i was first planning this change some 3 years ago but cant recall what the reason for going with that design was tho

There’s a Swedish company that are well regarded- and of course I have forgotten the name. Let me see if I can find it.

Ah right, spacers with studs to change BCD etc. Plenty of people run them at 15mm without issue. I know here in aus they are not legal. It does seem like sub optimal solution but I gather getting the correct offset and width wheels is next to impossible for the masserati.

Yeah bit annoying but what can i do. I would much rather fit a wheel straight on there but as u say its very limited options unless i put in more cash than i want to and get some custom wheels etc. Not in the cards for me for this car. Then i would rather just refinish the wheels that are on there now and get some better rubber but i also think the car would look bit better with 1" larger wheels in terms of proportions. + i can use the very small ride height increase with the new combo. Its hard to get around in this around town without scraping the under carriage.

Are wobble bolts illegal?

Might be cheaper to get the hub redrilled or see if bits off the later can be retro fit rather than going the custom wheel/redrilled wheel.
-
• #69917
Hmm bits of the later as in the 93 years hub? Something tells me there is nothing cheap about that on my car :)
Dident think redrilling hub was even an option but even so i would need spacers since the axle presumably is longer on the 93 forward considering all the bodypanels are the same and the offset of the wheels are different. But i guess i dont know this for a fact tho.

Not sure, but I'd assume they are. We have so many restrictions here on modifications. Not as bad as Germany, but still restrictive without going through engineering process.

Was it manton or similar? Think they went under few years ago

No, it was via someone I follow on Instagram- might well have been KT4 Performance, thinking about it.

I had an MOT advisory that my front tyres will need replacing soon.
It's a 2017 Yaris Hybrid so obviously I'm favouring practicality. Is there much difference between the various different tyres on offer, anything that's good/should be avoided? It's mainly used for shortish journeys but I do a 500 mile round trip up north every couple of months. Cheers

Most things from a premium brand (Michelin, Goodyear etc.) will suit just fine.

Got a question about my car radio if anyone can help.
I got a new battery for my car, and now I need a security code for my radio. I have tried the one in the user manual, but it says incorrect.
I am thinking about just replacing the unit altogether.
Will I need the old code, that I don't know, if I get a new radio unit?Cheers.
-
• #69924
Off the top of my head I think you can find radio codes online?
-
• #69925
Cheers, aye.
I've got a code in the users manual, and the one I got offline is the same. Unfortunately the display says "incorrect" when this code is entered.
So I'm wondering, if I get a brand new radio unit, will I need the old code (which I don't know) to be able to use a new radio unit?
I'll try to dig some pics out. Yeh mine was also a tubular manifold - not sure on brand as it was fitted already when I imported it.
