• Internal doors - I am looking to put in a ply door (nowhere-near-40k-kitchen will have ply cupboards) like the pic below. The only ply doors I can find are the very cheap and most basic ones which seem to be sold as 'ready to paint' sort of like this - my guess is that these will be hollow and lightweight. I just can't find anything nicer! Anyone got any links/recs/places to look?

    Cheers

  • Yeah I think all the forum chat makes everyone's mental imagine default to nice baltic birch with a matt Danish oil finish, rather than mid-reddy-naff-brown.

The obvious solution is to just paint it or add a laminate that matches your cabinets. Even if that laminate is say a 5mm layer of the same type of ply as your cupboards.

Nice neat hinges and fitting combined with the right door furniture will stop it looking shit.

  • Thanks for this, that's really useful. I'd really rather not have to fuss with laminating a door myself, and pretty sure the builder isn't going to want to, but it is an option I guess!
