Yeah - not brave enough for that yet. Couple of moments today I was more than glad of the squish. The kids flying about on bmx's seem to make it look very easy though. Bit sad I didn't go for an old 24in dirt jumper, but I also wanted it to be as relatable as possible to my 29er.
If anyone has an old 26 air fork (that isn't made of cheese) which still moves up and down and you'd be willing to sell I'm all ears.

are those trails dry at the moment?
-
• #23205
Yep. A week or so back I passed by and even though it hadn't rained for a while, the dewy / foggy mornings still made left them like a quagmire. Now they are running super nice - just slightly tacky giving bags o grip. In summer they get dusty as which can be a bit sketchy.

Looks fun!
I had a similarly great day at the weekend. My other half was away so instead of cracking on with work in the garden I enlisted the kids to construct a ghetto bike park. Actually got a great session in and the injuries all round were pretty light so we totally got away with it (other than achieving no progress on any of my to do list).
Made a small ramp into a soft pile of dirt for the kids which they hit for hours on end!

God awful Ebike?

crisis adverted on the extra 8mm of offset vs being overforked, I just bought a Stumpy Evo and Lyrik instead.

Thought I read the motors aren't arriving until 2023. This is a minor update to one frame and some stock arriving, unless I've missed something?

While we're on the subject of Cotics, I've managed to find a B1 Lyrik airspring, unfortunately it's 150mm. I'm really hoping that because it's going to drop 5mm into its travel under its own weight, that being 5mm over what Cotic say is fine to use travel wise on a FlareMax will be ok.
It'll be ok, won't it? Won't it?

Not an ebike, not a minor update.
-
• #23214
Absolutely fine. You’ll probably find that it sucks down closer to 10mm of the travel.
Before I went coil mine was closer to 10mm -

Great, that's what I was hoping to hear!

Mine is doing that, I’d blamed the Secus but I did change to a B1 (from the C1) when the Secus was fitted. I’m swapping to a 160mm spring at service time, because a) I can’t help fiddling and b) this seems logical to me as I’ve “lost” 10mm.

Have you looked at axle to crown measurements for Fox and Rockshox? Unsurprisingly there's no standard there, and obviously sag is a factor, like the difference between 20% & 30% sag is more than the difference between a 140mm and 150mm fork.

When I had a RS Revelation, I sent it back under warranty as it got sucked down, then stuck up... Funnily enough it didn't sag like that when I got it back.

Yes, gravel thread >>>

Probably more Monsteur than grav-grav, but this thread title has offroad in it, so it can go wherever the heck it likes.

Is it one of these you use? Not clear if it comes with a presta adapter but I assume it does?

It does come with a presta adapter. The chuck is a bit budget though, so I replaced it with a £5 decathlon one. It's also really useful for filling an Airshot if it gets to that.

I’m sending mine to Fin at Full Factory for a service and 160mm air shaft, hopefully everything will be spot on when it comes back. I’ll then swap the offset bushing in the rear to the high position.

I believe the dropper on my bike is too tall (and can't be adjusted for a lower max height):
Marzocchi Transfer Dropper Seatpost, Internal Routing, 175mm Travel, Diameter: 30.9 mm
What should I get that's in the (I guess) 160-170mm range? Preferably something that's otherwise the same, so I don't need new trigger or whatever.
assuming smooth ground, yes definitely.
