  • affordable proper back cushions

FYI the clearance section of Ikea often has sofa cushions. Measure up then go have a rummage.

  • these ikea ones are what I have in mind but that's a good shout.

only issue is we live equidistantly far from croydon and southampton ikeas now so getting to either is an absolute ballache so need to wait for a bigger reason to visit than couch cushions.

  • Aggi, can I ask how you are getting on with your Flexispot sit/stand desk? I need to order a new desk and this is top of the list at the moment.

  • Ha! I've had that MJ free throw line poster waiting to be framed for about 20 years, along with an original UK AJ1 Jumpman skyline one.

  • Something going on there, I can't put my finger on it.

You're an LA Lakers fan, perhaps?

  • no idea what you mean... (missed a small section of the room).

  • I'm happy with it. Nice and stable and the sit/stand is very smooth. I probably don't stand as much as I should as I forget about it.

I got an EQ5 because I wanted something that would go a little lower than 71cm. Looks like they have a £90 discount on that model at the moment.

I'd definitely get one with preset heights, I can imagine trying to remember and set heights would be a bit annoying.

It was a bit fiddly to put together, but fine once it's up. On my model at least the cable management stuff was minimal, doing again I'd be tempted to get some kind of cable tray (I just used a lot of zip ties).

The frames are Sanodesk ones. You may spot them cheaper under that brand, prices seem to fluctuate quite a bit.

  • Thanks, I'm looking at the EG1 but this is all good to know.

  • I'm selling a Flexispot E5 at the moment if you're interested.

Can also supply with a brand new solid oak top, cut to size.

  • I'll have a look thanks. How much are you after?

  • Any recommendations for a speaker/mic combo thing for my desk.. just used for teams calls..

Since lockdown ended, I’m home alone so don’t need the noise cancelling gamer headset vibe any more..

It will be permanently plugged in to dock so no need for Bluetooth etc.

  • I second this. I've had mine for nearly 5 years now and it's been rock solid.

  • What is the sound quality like compared to headsets? Can people hear you loud and clear?

  • No issues as far as I'm aware, no problems reported by the hundreds of people I've spoken to via it.

  • Sold.

Just wondering if it is worth going up to the 510 for not much more money.

  • I often have to edit videos of myself talking (blah) to upload online. I use the zoom recording. I use the basic video editor that lives in Photos viewer in Windows 10. This does what I need it to but the zoom recording has much better compression so when I export from the video editor, even at a much smaller pixel size (540 instead of 1080px) it's a much bigger file size.

Can anyone recommend a basic, easy to use video editor to use on Win10? I need to be able to trim ends and cut bits out of the middle.

I have access to AfterEffects (and other Adobe stuff) and VLC but the settings confuse me (eg accidentally creating videos with no sound).

  • Adobe premiere rush? Haven’t used it but I think it’s the lightweight version of premiere

  • Ah cool, I think I have access to that, will check it out, thanks!

  • handbrake can probably convert the big file to something a bit more wieldy as well if you want and has a bunch of presets for the intended display use.

  • I recall handbrake in the dim and distant past... Will have a look too, thanks.

  • Ready to try out tomorrow…

  • Anyone used the HÅG Capisco or Capisco Plus chairs? I’ve got a backapp stool at the moment but want a backrest. The Capisco looks like it could still keep me activated while seated while giving me a backrest as well

  • Interested on your opinion. Constantly fiddling with my Elgato Wave 3 because of echo and oppressive noise cancellation from Teams. Can't seem to solve it due to proximity to monitor speakers.

Would love to remove the issue with a combined mic / speaker setup like this.

  • genuine question; with no headphones, do you have a HUGE soundproof place you sit in when you WFH?
