I now help him organise Formula G.
So what can I help with?
Important reminder: it's not who you know, it's whom.

Tell your teammate and friend to watch how he’s driving.

No fear. They have children at those. I loathe and fear children.

Any recommendations to do an oil and filter change in and around Wood green?

With a baby and move out of London we’re looking to buy a car. I don’t drive (yet) but partner has tasked me with looking...
Anything inherently wrong with either an aging 5dr VW Golf or BMW 1-Series?
Seem to be looking at 2008-2010, petrol, auto, £5-6k with less than 90k miles. Hoping at nearing 40 insurance won’t be ridiculous. -

1-Series of that vintage is tiny inside; unless you must have RWD, avoid as a sprogwagon.

Good to know! I'll fish out some specs online to compare. We're on a really narrow ye olde lane so something the size of a mini and with the capacity of a Volvo would be ideal. A Honda Jazz has been vetoed, not a fan on the interior.

go for the golf over the bimmer. as @ectoplasmosis said they are surprisingly cramped in the back vs the golf and will be a touch pricier to fix

Why is it people are just such assholes when it comes to advertising things?
Went to look at a car, recently had 'turbo, egr, inlet manifold, timing chain, tensioner etc, all at bmw, receipts provided'. When asking about it, asked why selling for what seems a sensible price, given all cars are way up, and you've just spent many many thousand (at least £4k in my estimation of BMW main dealer pricing). Engine all good, no weird noises*
*As suspect if it ate a turbo, bits of that turbo might be anywhere.Yup, engine sounds noisy, DPF hollowed out, cat hollowed out, intercooler still got a crap tonne of oil in it. And 'receipt from bmw' strangely missing.
Unfortunately some poor bugger will buy it and likely have a few weeks of happiness before the inevitable.

I’d vaguely considered height when buying my camper, I’d taken a tape measure with me to the dealer and verified that it was 2M at its highest point (awning rail), and thought to myself that that was great - it’d fit under the majority of barriers.
The multi-story that I parked in last weekend was <1.95M. I got in (very slowly, with the mirrors folded), I got down five stories, I parked. Will I get out? Height anxiety is real. Tune in on Friday to discover whether my camper will be forever trapped in a French car park, of if I had to let the tyres down to get out.

I dinged the roof of our old van going into the parking lot at LAX about 4 hrs after we bought it. The stated height max was greater but it caught some plumbing on a ramp, definitely watch out for that.

Was given a Peugeot expert by work.
“It’s low so you can park it at X multi-storey”.
Was ok getting in, but I had to 3 point turn it down every ramp, and felt like I could very easily batter the roof if I took the ramp at the wrong angle. Took an age to get out as the entrance was on level 5 and exit was on the ground. Vans and multi-storey car parks are a legit ballache! -

I can actually see a legitimate rationale for air suspension in this situation, not that I’m going to go that route.

If I modify this car it’d be to get the 720Nm OM656.

Gah, I miss my Eunos Roadster. Looked totally standard, but had a stainless manifold and straight-through stainless exhaust.
Obnoxiously quick off the line!

Would putting spacers on the wheelhubs of car of around 2cm have any meaningful negative effect on bearings or otherwise? The new wheels will need to come out a bit but they also have different offset so will end up pretty much in the same spot (also an 1" wider).

It will alter the steering geometry- but alter is not necessarily bad.

Did anyone get a GR Yaris? Can you fit a bike in the back?

Rear not so much...?

Any pics?
I've got a Fujitsubo tubular manifold on mine with a custom exhaust, it needs more silencer boxes though because it's just not quiet enough at the moment.
You can't really enjoy the ITBs enough because the exhaust overpowers it.
This is where you say someone with Formula G stickers knocked you off your bike
