I love that. Strap and dial work so well together. Story time: I have an affection for Seiko's. I was born to a single parent family. My favourite "Uncle Gerry" had a bimetal seiko and smoked John Player Special and Embassy - funny the things you remember. I always thought he and that watch were very cool. He brought round Chinese food, and bags of chocolate. Then one day he stopped coming and I found out years later he was my dad and my mum had banished him. We hooked up years later thanks to my twin brother doing a lot of detective work. I was lucky to be around for his last few years, he passed at 84. He was a good witty guy who could recount quotes and stories of his great antics at length even if admittedly a bit weak when I was a kid. We'd meet for coffee and lunch. Still love Seikos, I have a few part out of nostalgia, part because they are just lovely watches that don't shout.

Was a present from my wife many years ago before she could really afford it. Still my favourite watch.

That's great. Good purchase

Been looking at their watches, look quite refreshing, good choice!
I only look into it cause it remind me of Fallout (with isotope all over the wasteland).

I really like your IWC too, I had a minimal one that I really liked until I needed some quick money. I think that and my Navitimer Venus Cal. I miss the most, but these little boutique brands like the isotope are fun and funky and a bit different from mainstream offerings for not much more of a premium.

I got it mixed up with ikepod at first, I think that's what caught my attention but loved the aesthetics and actually... the green.

Watching (!) lots of 'mod' video on YouTube at the moment and I notice one thing as a complete novice; everyone wearing these 'ere finger condoms - for everything.
Now I get the concept, grease, dust, skin (urgh) etc. but all of these folk seem to keep the same set on for the duration of their videos. Even when messing with lubricant for gaskets and cements for bezels. It reminds me of when people used to wear gloves shopping - 'cos COVID - then touch their face, followed by eating the sandwich they just bought whilst still wearing them...

Reviewers wearing cotton gloves as they handle the latest £100 seiko/Casio is also good

Most people know fu*k all about cross contamination.

What you don’t realise is how much skin gets shed when handling a watch without gloves.(dust is mostly skin) it’s a real issue with photographing watches close up but harder to deal with shooting video
I have photographed watches for QP/telegraph/GQ/Esquire and spent hours dust spotting because somebody decided they wanted to try on a box fresh watch before I could shoot it. -

What’s everyone wearing today?

It is very reflective, but manageable, I guess? The Khaki Pilot Pioneer is nice, but its a mineral glass.

Wow. Good memory. I’ve owned both the Field and Aviation Pilot Pioneer. Aviation was fine even in bright light but the field was bad. I lived in NY at the time and even there it was bad. Now that I live in California it would be unbearable.

You need a driving glove and an STP sticker kicking around. Classic watch!

I'll go along with the STP sticker, but I'd probably look like Alan Partridge with the driving gloves.
Thanks! - there was a fair bit of deliberation, for at least 5 minutes. Lol.
