I’ve had close to about 40 frames done with Mario. It’s true sometimes he can be a bit sloppy, but he is a lovely and generous guy and if you point out that it’s not up to scratch he’s always made amends.
His comms skills - other than calls - are legendarily terrible. I learnt to always give him everything I wanted drawn out/ printed up with clear RAL codes etc.
I’ve had frames done with others like Argos and they are better - neater, crisper finishes and hardier/longer lasting - but for what you get money wise from Mario I would still say he is super great value and you can get 2 or 3 spray jobs with him for the price of one elsewhere.

Looks fantastic... definitely heading there soon. Even the lug lining is on point.
Not sure about reviewer... just gonna ignore it tbh. -

That Gillott is looking very nice and the custom frame is just amazing.
Before I ride down there in the new year does Mario do little pots of touch up paint?
@knowthejo 40 frames! amazing! Dare I ask if you had a favourite color from the bunch.

Used to run the Union Cycle Works in Deptford and used Mario for our vintage custom builds and renovations.
I loved this green Mixte Hill Special he did with yellow lug lining

Yeah if you ask him he is pretty good - need to tell him before painting so he can save some that he has mixed up

Anyone know how much Mario would charge for a single colour respray roughly? I assume he is still going?

I have used him recently. £120 for all steel. £140 for steel / carbon fork

that's seems a good price, think I might have to give him a call

It is.
Unfortunate that they don't do chrome, as I'd have used them for another job.
Also his brother Winston is a frame maker of Roberts fame under the Varhona brand.
And Mario paints his frames.
I hear nothing other than good reviews on both.
