  • Fuck me, projections are hard. The projections, in the end, were only about one doubling time out. ~3 days. Insane how much of a difference that makes. The one thing that the projections have consistenly failed to incorporate is public response to news/concerns/etc.

  • Interesting, if unsurprising: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/59999541

Doubt cast over Djokovic test timing. Would love for this to be his downfall.

  • Don't know what's new in that - these discrepancies were being reported a few weeks ago.

  • As the story says Zerforschung first picked up the discrepancy but the BBC collected data from as many Serbian test results as they could (56 in total) and plotted them on a timeline.

The story does go into quite a lot of detail on this if you actually read it ;)

  • The lack of any attempt at explaining the discrepancies means the suggestion of wrongdoing is going more mainstream?

With PCR, is it not really unlikely you'd go from positive to negative so quickly anyway. I returned positive PCRs for at least a month after infection (ONS study). So even if his first test was legit, wouldn't it suggest a false positive rather than an actual infection?

It's mega murky whatever the truth is. Its a good soap opera though as you can just revel in it rather than be too fussed about any of the implications.

  • Would love for this to be his downfall.

Does the ATP Tour have a clause requiring players are of good character? If not I expect it will all blow over.

I've got tickets for centre court at Wimbledon this summer (from the ballot 2 years ago...). If Djokovic is on court I might see if I can get removed for booing.

  • Self-tested positive today. Feel totally fine; more like the feeling after one too many drinks. Not full-on hangover but not quite right sort of thing. Before my test I went out for a ride and went up a local climb with a few 17% sections in it without it being too bad so other than a lack of fitness in general, my oxygen intake is probably fine.

Incredibly sensitive to being near people since I tested (quick visit to the shop, not a weekend at Bang Face or anything)

  • Falsifying medical stuff could incur a 10 year visa ban with some countries, even if you didn’t falsify them entering the country in question.

Would love to see France ban him.

ATP can also sanction for stuff like that but they’re spineless just like any international sporting body. All about the sponsorship ££

  • Maybe we should petition the Home Secretary to not let him in? I understand she is all about denying entry to unsavoury types.

  • I believe the Tory definition of unsavoury is poor brown people so he wouldn’t qualify.

  • quick visit to the shop

    Not UK?

  • Nah, currently France. Quick visits to the shop a problem or something there?

  • Isolating is all well and good, but I had to get food to eat. I don't live here, just visiting so I can't ask anyone to go get stuff for me.

  • Challenges of travelling with covid going around.

Friends went to Lanzarote over Christmas. Caught covid first day, and stayed in the same room for over a week, had to miss their flight, and come back a week later.
Room service 3 times a day.

  • Check and see if there is a help group near you on social media.

  • Am angry/upset and arguementative so beware:

Well this is France, whom charge for antigen tests and PCR now so how many people are positive and can't afford to test?

Background: Liar tenant, claimed not to be vacinated as covid will be over by the end of summer, then claims to be vacinated and then claims to have covid and doesn't isolate and stays around me, then claims to have long covid.

  • Tested positive last Monday and have been isolating since. Negative LFT yesterday so was looking forward to a trip outside and general freedom this morning but no, another positive and probably the strongest double line yet. FML…

Does a double negative now equal a positive?

The rules are just too confusing

  • Ha, who knows these days but that was a typo. Negative yesterday and a positive this morning just as I was excited to take a wander out.

  • That’s one way of reducing the massive positive test numbers in France….

  • About 30% still test positive on day six iirc? Hope you are feeling OK.

  • Booked #2 for daughter for 12 weeks plus a few days from her first.

  • That is what concerns me.

But masks still in use as well as hand sanitiser in all shops.

  • Advice needed, however I appreciate this might seem like a stupid question.

Myself and wife both positive, her since Tuesday me since yesterday. Daughter is negative since Wednesday, son now just a faint positive - hopefully he’ll test negative tomorrow and Monday.

Kids are required to be at school if not isolating - are wife or I allowed to drive them to school if we stay in the car and don’t go near anyone? No grandparents anywhere nearby that could help.

Background to this is school phoning us up and threatening to fine us if we didn’t get the kids to school when I was waiting for a (negative) PCR result a few weeks ago.

There are (not widely publicised) exemptions for various circumstances, which include:

    • to fulfil a legal obligation;
    • to access critical public services.

    Do these apply here?
