  • Fair enough.
I get a lot of requests for P11ds in self assessment season and 95% don't actually have one.

  • Done mine. Got a decent rebate too.

    #smugtwat

  • Sadly I'm doing mine because I know I owe them a chunk of money.

  • stop bumping this thread in october

  • Yeah I don’t need this anxiety yet :D

  • Bump for amey

  • P11D obtained, return completed, just need to search the records for gift aid donations to help take the edge off the final bill...

  • Can anyone on here check a CGT calculation / explanation for me?

  • Bump for @amey

  • Submitted mine for 2020/21 (and paid the outstanding tax) last week.

Won't have to do one for 2021/22. Woohoo! (But I'll be back on them for 2022/23.)

  • Eurgh gotta do this at the weekend

  • Paid an accountant to do mine because CGT + PRR.

Despite large CG I didn't breach the threshold for paying back Child Benefit so Mrs Howard had the pleasure of doing a return and paying back the Child Benefit.

    FFS.

  • I never knew about them then got investigated and fined for not declaring something on a P11d from 5 years before at a previous job. I ask every year now just in case - never had one since. Since there was nothing different about that year I reckon the first was their error not mine, but no way to prove it since I have no idea what the declared value referred to.

  • all done and paid a month ago, new year new me!

  • Anyone else fed up getting charged to file a confirmation statement?
How about we let you know if anything changes like your passport/driving licence etc 🤷‍♂️

  • I still need to do my tax return, and I'm usually not so good at that kind of stuff, but I want to know something,
I have to write the amount of taxes taken off my salary.
On my payslips I have all the deductions, Tax, NI Employee Contribution and Retirement Savings.
Do I have to calculate them all or just the Tax and NI Employee Contribution or just the Tax?
    Thanks for your help

  • Just the tax. NI is different and employer deductions will usually be something else (you might need to include them though - depends if they are deductible pre or post tax?)

  • Just remembered about the "working from home" tax relief on £6/week and was able to amend my 2020/21 return. I had already submitted it and paid my bill based without the tax relief but it should now mean £124.80 coming back to me (directly or via a tax code change).

Will also try and remember to claim it for 2021/22 although I'll only get to claim for ~5 months of the year.

Also I saw some headlines about Sunak withdrawing the relief in future years but haven't had a chance to read about it all.

  • was able to amend my 2020/21 return.

    How u do this?

I submitted, then remembered, now don't know how to change.

Also had to guess my p60, as my accounts have, as far as I can tell, lost all of their (and my) data. My guess is ramsomware.

  • How u do this?

Log in -> Tax return options -> select the right year -> Amend return -> Add/delete a section and/or amend a figure

(The rest is from memory as I don't want to mess with my newly submitted return)

Then go to the Employment section and there's a question about "extra allowances" that you need to select yes, and on the second page of the allowances stuff there's a box for "other allowances" where I stuck the £312 figure in (it's relief on £6 a week during 2020/21).

On the PDF of my submitted return the 312 figure is in the box marked "20. Other expenses and capital allowances" in the "Employment expenses" section. There's definitely a help link in the section that specifically mentions the WFH tax relief.

Then go through the normal view -> check -> submit.

  • Found it - thanks!

  • Sorry a basic question but is this wfh tax relief applicable to PAYE?
Anyone who had to wfh last year can claim it?

  • And is the £6 per week pro rata for part-timers? I was a 0.7, 0.2, 0.8 at various times of last tax year...

  • I had a bad year 20/21, didn't we all, and my reduced income means I am not required to submit for the period.
I have had good results since and will need to submit again this year.

I went through the exemption process and registered reduced income as the reason I don't need to submit. Got confirmation of my submission but nothing else.
No notification that my submission has been approved and still being chased to submit.

    Am I missing something?
