• Nori had an "interview" at a local doggy day care in SE London to see if it might work for her. Although muzzled she aced it but i'm a bit concerned about how many dogs there were in the main pen. Obviously lots of factors at play but do people that use them have an opinion on how many dogs per staff member is acceptable?

Also, would you expect some sort of organised activities for the dogs? Felt like a good place to practice her socialising outside of the park but not convinced she'd be having a great time after an hour of plodding around a pen with a bunch of strange dogs. Nori obviously has some special needs so we're limited on where we can go and who will take her.

  • I've never used a doggy day care, so can't help. I'm pretty sure both of mine would get kicked out on their first day...

However, it does sound like you've done brilliantly with Nori. I bet you couldn't have imagined this would be possible a few months ago.

There were two other staff's that were easily the calmest friendliest dogs there. No doubt when play kicks off it's a royal rumble but a lot less yappy and nervy than many of the other dogs.

She's doing great thanks. We had a reminder of why she needs a muzzle just over a week ago but it was her first hairy incident in about 6 months. Although Nori went for the other dog the owner was actually really apologetic as it's pretty clear she's not always gonna play nice. I'm thinking day care is not gonna be great for her at this stage. You shouldn't really muzzle a dog for long periods so much more than an hour would be unfair. Might just take her along to play for an hour and see how she gets on.

    Your two are looking great.
