Lol. That’s exactly what’s going on in my household. It’s infuriating.

That was a big lol

Also, I’ve been wondering, can you get to know what a Wordle word is? Or is every five letter word a solution? We’ve established US spelling is involved, but, for example, will ‘plonk’ be an answer one day? Are plurals allowed? It feels like the wild west.

I reckon there should be plenty utilising "ea" in second and third spots too...

My 2nd guess had only 1 vowel and my 3rd was a very random quick guess. In my vain mind I believe I could have had it in 3 or 4 tries... Rethink strategies? More like use strategies. And have a coffee before going to wordle ffs

I would think any five letter word in the English language is legit. They must have a wordlist that they have created or licensed that regulates viable words. Of course not all dictionaries or wordlists will have the same set of five letter words. At a guess they probably access the Merriam Webster api. Plurals are playable. Having said all that, I can’t see the plural c-bomb beloved of lfgss dropping anytime soon.

Have they ever duplicated a word?
My concern is we’ve come to the party too late and we have 200 words to catch up on (eliminate).

That wouldn’t work under worlde hard rules. You played p twice but it wasn’t in the word.
-
• #261
And of course it won’t let you play a word that isn’t in the list.

Is Wordle counting a thing?!

Someone hacked the wordle code, it takes the date and then based on some solveable process assigns a numbered word from a defined list. That person then predicted words for the days ahead and got them right.
But there's no fun in that.
-
• #267
What's your list then?
-
• #268
Haha - I don’t have one.
Maybe I should ask the lexicographers to create one with all the supporting proofs!?

Disgusting.

Yeah we had the 6letter version for a while. Made this guy an instant celebrity. He put the emphasis between the s and the h to disguise the vulgarity.
