I’m just about ready. Thanks for your wishes everyone. Watched the women’s race with lunch and now just keeping an eye on Wout smashing the sand in the Belgian course. Just gotta decide which bottle to open really. Cheeky red, or a cool beer?

Men's race was mega and the atmoshpere was great!

Glad I didn't race, the course looked brutal. @JonD You were wise to avoid it in the end.

Haha, yeah! The course looked, let’s say… quite sticky. Wish I’d had a go at cross when I was younger though. Something about it appeals, not sure what/why. Doubt I’d have got around a single lap out there today before being pulled out. Well done all.

so I rolled a tub in a cross race a couple of weeks back and the tyre got very muddy in the process. It's a pretty new FMB tyre so I'm keen to reglue it, but obvioulsy I need to clean the base tape. It was taped on so there's no glue residue but there is a lot of mud in it.

What would be the best thing to use? Is just a good wash with soapy water sufficient or do I need to use something else like https://www.effettomariposa.eu/products/­eau-de-carogna-adhesion-primer

If you haven't already I'd try dry brushing it first and maybe a gentle hoover to remove as much mud,dust as you can. It might take a few passes though

I'd also be tempted to contact FMB to get some advice so you don't affect the adhesion of the base tape
