  • This worked well for us. Just don’t be phased by mild pissing of water.

    Think of it like mechanical disc brakes - unscrew til it’s really shit then screw in a tad more til it’s not pissing out so much and twist the rad down. Tighten the nuts whilst you’re doing your thing, then reverse proceedings.

  • Much appreciated for linking this easy to follow guide, it's the video I was using yesterday. My issue is the left side of the radiator just won't lift off the wall mount, no matter how much I heave. I think the floor board that side needs to be lifted or trimmed to allow the copper pipe to move upwards.

    @fredtc good to know removing the rad completely if needed isn't that bad. My main issue was with refilling the system as feared I'd be responsible for buggering up our heating in January of all months. After watching a few vids on refilling the system think I've got my head around this now, thank god for YouTube.

  • when you refill the system add some inhibitor while your at it. if you have towel rad in the bathroom, might be easier for you to pour it in there and that will run round the system for you.
