THAT seatpost
The more I look at it the dafter it seems.

I have posted this in anti, as a somewhat misguided way to share, but it clearly belongs here more than anything.
Home-made circa 1984. Assembled of asortment of tubing and parts borrowed from other bikes, lists cardboard as a one of materials and features 52 as a mid gear in a triple chainring setup.
You can see it in person in bike museum in Lithuania amongst other oddities: https://sam.limis.lt/virtualios-parodos/-/virtualExhibitions/view/69103?backUrl=%2fvirtualios-parodos

How about this for a frankenbike...
My bro dug it up from a chook shed like fifteen years ago; I did some major mods to make it roadworthy - added canti posts for V brakes all round, rebuilt the rear wheels with hub gears, grafted suspension into the middle rear, plus a hub motor up front and 500W sound system. Also ended up narrowing the whole thing a few inches to get it under 2.5m wide so it was legal.
It was an instant mobile party, great fun. Got pinched by some Greenpeace douchebags though, I'm led to believe

Perfect
Love it -

Is this a rat bike or just a nice bike that's got a little dirty from riding it in the rain a couple times? Still a fan though
-
• #18163
It definitely cleans up for sure. But it's the reused, too short and crash torn bar tape, heel rubbed cranks, mismatched tyres, stupid mudguard, both sides dented stickered top tube etc
By no means as rat as most in here -

My trusty and rad beater. 100% forum sourced. It’s a sick bike but it’s always been too small and since I broke both my wrists last year it’s a bit to aggressive to be comfortable. So I’ll be shifting this soon :(

sad story, but great bike (and a nice photo!)

• #18170
That is sad, but couldn’t you do some serious bar-raising?
Or would that wreck the lines of the bike in your eyes? -
• #18171
Yeah that’s what I was thinking. The stem on my old GT came to mind.. :D

I did raise the bars a bit and I could use a setback seat post but in the end it’s just too low and short. After my accident I couldn’t ride it at all and when I first got on it after months I didn’t get how it ever worked out.

Aren't risers cooler than flat bars at the moment?

This is not a rat, imo. It gets cleaned in the bathroom ffs!
