I've never tried with a 10s setup but I can't see why it should pose a problem. The 12s outer cable / cable stop diameter is slightly smaller than the 11s version but that's the only difference I could tell.
From my experience, it's better to preventively replace 12s cables after xx amount of time as, unlike 11s, you'll not notice any degradation in shifting performance over time. At a certain moment they just snap. That beind said, I'm at 15k with my current 12s cable setup and will only replace them this coming season.
