Just necked a Tiny Rebel Dooms Night, imperial stout and 11.5%.
Sent me a little west, so having to take the edge of with a DDH IPA from Magic Rock (a paltry 7.2%) -

I feel like a lightweight drinking lager at 5pm on a Sunday

The Vocation went down so well I followed it up with this. Brewed not far from my mate, who recommended it (his photo actually - not sure what I did with the bottle. Possibly due to drinking too much strong beer)

Working through the stash.
2016 Fuller's Vintage.very nice.
Strong caramel, malt is present but not as overbearing as they generally are.
Pretty light for a 8.5%, could easily drink a few of these (if only I had a few...)

If anyone is interested this Brew By Numbers referral link says it gives 50% off for both of us
BBNo referral which seems a pretty good deal for decent beers. -

their goze is nice, not a huge fan of all the marshmallow/peanut butter adulterated stouts that are all the rage right now but as a fan of gueze and krieks i find the modern fruited sour beers really nice despite the often odd list of ingredients like sorrel and loganberry etc.
Gipsy hill do some nice ones, anyone tried the low alcohol versions? wondered if they keep the tartness and not become over sweet?

It's a nice touch that the Belgian Trappist ales were influenced by English strong ales in the first place and Tynt Meadow set up their brewery with help from Robinsons, brewer of Old Tom which you can definitely put in the same group of beers.

Not really spiced but distinctive, it’s a winner

Is it a bit Old Tom like?

I’m sorry but I have no idea. All I can say is I really enjoyed it.

No worries. Was it from a supermarket chain or local beer shop? If I can find it I'd like to try it.

The NEIPA was bangin, not had the others yet. Was at Grifter in Marikville yesterday, great taproom and excellent beer. Some kind of cucumber number was the winner. Checked out Philter too. Really good beer scene over here, like everywhere though, not cheap.

Set your iPlayer region to Scotland and discover that despite his bitching about breweries selling out, James Watt owns half a mill in Heineken shares (amongst other shitty things).

Just had the chocolate and banana imperial stout. Dangerously drinkable for 11.4%! Very winey and not too chocolately, which I liked.
