Are you referring to the supersix? If so no I didn't buy.

Hi, does anyone know what year this CAAD 5 is from? I'd imagine about 03 but can't see it in any of the catalogs?? Cheers

Has anyone seen a new Jekyl anywhere?

Thanks! Took off the CAAD5 sticker and will hopefully add clearcoat this weekend.

Looks like a caad8.
Wrong decals?

I literally thought the same thing and asked the seller if the bike had been repainted, he advised no. I've since seen two examples of a CAAD 5 with that exact paint job/fork combo from two completely different sellers, in different sizes. So think it's legit.

Fair enough, sounds correct then. Don’t know why you’d rebadge as a 5 anyway.
Funny they did a caad8 with the same forks. Googling raw caad8 throws up some with this fork and others with a premium slice.

I've found the same thing regarding forks, not always easy to tell which fork original came with the frame.

You getting it? It’s nice.

Well that one pictured is sold (old photo). There is one online, it's got crap components so trying to get sale for just f&f but the seller only replies to messages every fortnight

Nah the cable stops moved to the headtube for the CAAD7 and beyond. Before that they were on the downtube like the 5 above. Different dropouts too

Well, in an ideal world I'd like to ride one to see what it's like, do you know if there are any demonstrators out there?

Cannondale hive mind advice please (will also copy up in the Mechanical People thread as well, so apologies.)
So we have tyre clearance issues.
The Wolverines are nice but are now the third set of tyres I’ve brought and i need to make this work.
Question is, can I - dare I - do the compress the chain stays to make a bit more room?
Aluminium would say to me ‘nope’ and I’ll kill the frame.
The wheel is slightly out of true - and can’t be cured as the spokes have been done up to tight and started to pull on the rim. I have a spare (non-matching) wheel so I could swap it out. Which would be a shame as I like the Cannondale original.
However there would still be the danger of frame rub if anything (like mud. Grit. Stones. Dogshit) adheres to the tyre and rubs the chain stays even more. And then the frame will die anyway.
Have tried to catch this in the pictures. All I needed to do was slip the chain on and get out on this tomorrow but now I think that’s not going to be part of the plan :(
Er. Yeah. So, any ideas?

Frame was designed around 40mm slicks, and that’s a 2 inch knobbly in there?
I would avoid crimping and just get a tire that fits personally.

Hnngggg. I think I need to sell this.
-

Why not just sell the current tyres and buy something in 42c flavour e.g. gravel kings. Or did you actually want an XC bike?
-
• #14873
Mmm. I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to put a wanted ad up. I really can’t afford to blow another £60 right now. Or £600 on the bike that would actually do the job. My life.

Even if it’s for some worn out ones to check that you like the fit! Someone will have something.

I’d also advise not to modify an alu frame. You’ll end up folding the frame riding up a hill!
Agree with Cheeky Snaker here and would suggest just going down a size on the tyre
Maybe old news, the new Cannondale font is quite bad?
