Pleased with the colour match and quality of the 2k paint.
Also the colour coded fork and stem distract from the brutal gussets etc and it all looks quite neat now (relatively speaking) -

Put some bits on to get an idea of how it’s looking. Annoyingly, the bb I’d got for it turned out to be Italian thread (WAC etc) so I can’t put a chainset on yet

So far with the saddle at correct height it’s got a pleasing look to it

looks excellent, stem is real tidy

I reckon that's a good paint match, it certainly looks convincing in the photos. Nice work. Looking forward to seeing it built up.

This is going to be good.
I like your San Marco saddle. A saddle unfortunately you don't see that much, lot's of character ;) -

Thanks. I really like it, the angle is about right and it just seems to work on this.
I was never much of a fan of custom painted stems but some of the builds from Saffron that had influenced me in this project changed my mind.

Cheers, yes, colour match is pretty much bang-on and the level of gloss too.
Finish quality is pretty decent - a good result for a cheap 2K rattle can from ebay -

Thanks - I've been mostly using San Marco concor/lite/strada saddles since about 2004

I was originally planning a cambium, cos that's what you use on gravel/allroad bikes... but when I put the concor lite on, I was really pleased with how good it looked - especially with the inline post.
Crazy busy with work at the mo, so I'm guessing this will progress slowly. -

Its the most important room in a house IMO.

Cheers, it's Limestone, honed & sealed but not polished
Not too bad on puppy piss red wine etc but you need to be quick to address hot oil spills -

Little progress on this build, life/work getting in the way and any free time is spent getting the miles in rather than in a freezing workshop.
I ordered some end caps to convert front hub to 12mm thru but they seem to have been lost in the post so >2 weeks later I’m still waiting.
I went to true the rear wheel and discovered that most of the spoke holes are dead. It’s a wtb frequency i19, the front is fine, but the back had to be replaced so I went for a DT eyeleted rim with a bit more width

I blocked out a bit of time this evening to make some real progress but it turned out to be one of those workshop sessions where everything is a pain.
Job 1 - trim steerer and fit fork
For some reason I managed to fit the star fangled nut on the piss and no amount of mechanical persuasion could get it to align.
Ended up drilling it out and fitting a spare.

Job 2 fit rear cassette
No space between axle end cap and lock ring to fit my cassette tool….

Job 3 fit brakes
After hours of searching finally found the brackets but discovered that the stroke adjust screw clashes with the seat stay.I’m now quite ruddy angry I don’t mind telling you

Looks like I’m still going to be riding the Rih for all off road duty till I’ve worked this lot through

I've had workshop sessions like this. So frustrating. Seems to be a universal truth that nothing is where it should be and nothing works right when you're low on time.
Would a different size rotor help with the caliper clash? It'd be a different adaptor and hence a different caliper position.

Would a different size rotor help with the caliper clash? It'd be a different adaptor
Thanks, yes, I was wondering the same myself as I was falling asleep
It might be necessary as I'm not even sure that the caliper and mount will even clear the seatstay once the caliper is aligned with the disk

Hub end caps finally arrived so I can fit the wheels
It’s looking like it’ll be a load of fun once done
