If it were me I'd want to replace that with a proper waste pipe in the knowledge that it's much less likely to be eaten.
You could offer the plumber extra to do the job but to be honest it's not that hard and if you give it a go I doubt you'll fuck it up as much as what is there already.
EDIT Just remember to have the fall going the right way

Why yes, yes it is
I messaged a guy we'd used before to come & sort it properly but he's patched me - the space to work in is about 3' square and requires climbing down behind the concealed cistern so it's not the most attractive of propositions
