Bear in mind that foil wrapped particle board (which is almost certainly what your kitchen is made of) normally comes with a protective sheet of plastic on it that is often blue which could be responsible for it appearing a different colour. At the end of the day as long as you get it from a decent supplier they are normally very good about returns and can get the replacements out next day normally.

It's timber oddly (/expensively). It's got a thick coating of transparent plastic around it which certainly won't help but good to know it may come wrapped in something else still.
My concern is more that the colour on the online planner has changed to the colour it appears to be through the transparent plastic.
I'll stop worrying and find out in an hour or so. Hopefully worst case scenario it's just the doors that are painted and I can still install units / add the doors later as I have electrician booked for second fix on Monday and worktop template next Weds.

This is a much cheaper option. We have one as my wife’s arse is closer to the ground than mine.

Thank you for this.
I think I'll go with the balloons for now, then take them out in summer as you suggested - if nothing else to cool the house down!

And I’m ignored? 😂😂😂

Yep, it's a completely different colour. It says the right 'heritage green' on the packaging. It says that on the order form online. It says that on the planner. But the planner now shows grey instead of green and the product we've received is grey instead of green.
Presuming we can still install the units themselves and just add doors/plinths/side panels later?

Looks like the grey might match the cat better

Would happily bin the cat in exchange for actually green doors.

I have a sheep fitted - you could literally stand up in my chimney/fireplace, must have had some range in it before - it’s been all I’ve needed to keep draughts out
-
• #34137
Where's it from?
-

Same with ours on the ground floor. It’s huge. Can’t get a sheep that will fit unless it’s shoved about four foot up the flue.
The other day the cat jumped up through the fireplace and disappeared up the chimney.

DIY Kitchens. It doesn't look terrible, but it's not the colour we ordered and doesn't go with the paint we'd planned (but thankfully not ordered). Obviously their small print is simply 'colours aren't accurate' but my gripe in particular stems from the planner preview colour literally changing overnight at some stage between order and delivery.

My experience of DIY kitchens, I've fitted 3 I think, has been very positive. While I have never dealt directly with them my clients who have, have always managed to get issues resolved quickly with no fuss.

Ha my bad!

They only seem to supply complete systems that include shelves etc
-

The problem is that once you move away from the big cabinetry hardware companies like Hafele and Blum the prices stay pretty high and quality nosedives.
Because of bitter experience people like @Airhead and myself who regularly deal with cabinetry hardware tend to stick with the big brands rather than potentially lose money putting a poor hardware decision right down the line.

Totally get that and happy to pay for quality. Hafele was the first place I went looking, they just don't seem to sell what I'm looking for - it would be wasteful (and more expensive than I was hoping) to spend £250 on their 500mm wide systems and then have to butcher them and spend additional money fabricating something to fit.
I had assumed that someone must sell just the hinges/brackets so that custom shelves could be used but that doesn't seem to be the case.

We have a couple of these already, but no good place to store them in or around the kitchen. A possible solution is to get something more like this, which folds flat and could possibly go in a cupboard.
Pic of kitchen to show space problem, and also for the curious.

Damn I was looking at getting the Heritage green in the Harewood set eventually. Any chance you've got a picture of what the green is coming out as?
-
• #34148
Oddly I was going to suggest folding. I know it’s not what you want but it is a lot cheaper. It may be possible to have a ‘slot’ to store it between the units too.

There's a difference between colours not being "accurate" i.e. "it looked different on my laptop screen" and them sending clearly the wrong colour panels/doors.
Anecdotally, we have just had a similar issue - a rogue colour panel in and amongst all the correct colour panels... and the kitchen supplier simply sent a new one for our chippy* to fit.
*I'll get involved with most DIY, but woodwork not my forté.

this reminds me of the run-around i had with Wren over some shelves.
kitchen was gloss grey and i had 3 shelves in the build, they turned up matt grey but labelled the same colour as the doors?? get several sets delivered in attempt to resolve the issue.
lots of back and forth and it turns out they don’t do gloss shelves and their gloss grey (lets call it Dove Grey) is the same grey as ‘Pumice’ (or whatever it’s called) but shiny.
i did end up with all my work desk area fully shelved for free though :-)
Had to go out immediately after taking that photo and vaguely concerned that they've changed the colour.
Looks very grey instead of green and when I log into the planner now, even though it says green, it looks grey - as though they've changed the recipe for the green we ordered between the time we placed the order and the time they produced it.
Get back in an hour so we'll see... erk.
