  • No and no.

You need EAP which is a £3,400 (!!) at order stage. It comes with:

    1. Navigate on Autopilot - takes exits on motorways for you
    2. Auto Lane Change - changes lanes for overtakes etc on motorways for you
    3. Autopark - self explanatory
    4. Summon - you can move the car backwards and forwards using the app, when you're not in the car (getting out of a tight spot etc)
    5. Smart Summon - summon the car to you from wherever it is (within a few hundred meters)

I've driven a few Model S with EAP and my 3 came with a two month trial of it.
Autopark just doesn't work. It rarely shows up and, given how good the cameras are, it's easier to park it yourself.
Smart summon just doesn't work. I think it's disabled in the EU or majorly kneecapped but it doesn't work in the US either.

Navigate on autopilot / auto lane change are super handy for long trips but not worth the outlay for the package. You can't buy them separately.

  • Thanks, doesn’t sound great. I hate parking and am always getting into jams dinging other cars, concrete posts anything really 😅

Wonder if the Polestar has it?

Come on autonomous vehicles, hurry up

  • Honestly, I would say that the camera system on Tesla's should stop you from curbing or dinging things.

You get a very high res view of the rear and down the side of the whole car as soon as you hit reverse:

You also have ultrasonic sensors which activate at low speeds and visualise obstacles distance.

The issue with the Tesla's is that when it works- it is amazing. But it seems to shit itself when a car or a pedestrian comes within 30ft. Which makes it pointless.
