Cool, with local context!
Are you going to pretty it up or just embrace the aesthetic? -
I have owned it for several years and have done very little. I'm trying to decide what I should do to preserve it. On other bikes I have done evaporust dip tanks, WD-40 & scotchbrite, and wax & elbow grease. I am debating between boiled linseed oil or wax for this one. It's probably my all-time favorite bike, I don't want to screw it up.

There was a competition/stall at a country fair in my village in the 90s with one of these - pay 50p, ride it 10 metres and win 5 quid. I bent down and held the forks rather than the handlebars - rode it 10 metres but he wouldn't pay me the fiver and then quickly changed his sign to say you had to hold the bars.

I looked at one of your old posts, wow that's a cool Soma. I like their nod to Worksman with the name. I always liked the idea of the Soma frame; being able to put modern components on a frame of that style.
I just weighed my Schwinn for the first time, 65 lbs. Mine is a post-war model, I wouldn't be surprised if the earlier ones are heavier.

@J-Shooter Thanks! I'm rather proud of how it came out. I think next year I'll do some minor aesthetic modifications and get it properly painted.

Lol I feel you. Had wet jeans every morning for at least 3 months before I took the time to strip the turbo saddle on my commuter. It doesn't feel wet untill you put your full weight on it 🤦
